Meat, milk, grain and berries: Ukraine increased the export of agricultural products

For the seven months of 2019, gross agricultural production in Ukraine increased by 12% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the export of domestic agricultural products increased by 21%.

This was announced by Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Elena Kovaleva, the press service of the Ministry.
“Over the seven months of this year, gross agricultural production grew by 12% compared to the same period last year, which was an excellent prerequisite for increasing export supplies, which grew by 21%. The basis of external deliveries is traditional grain and oilseeds, vegetable oils and meal, which in general form more than 80% of the volume, "said Kovaleva.
The deputy minister also noted growth in the following groups, such as meat - by 17%, dairy products - by 6%, fruits and berries - by 11%, processed fruits and vegetables - by 22%.
Speaking about the prospects of individual livestock sub-sectors, Kovaleva noted that, taking into account the high cost of dairy production, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy considers options for providing loans and / or compensation for updating, upgrading processing equipment, and extra payments for extra-class milk.
The deputy minister also dwelled on the most relevant topic of recent years - logistics issues, since significant export volumes require the dynamic development of all transport components.
Kovaleva recalled that the Ministry of Agrarian Policy regularly holds meetings of the logistics headquarters, which has become a platform for interaction between farmers and logistics operators.
