Exports of goods from Ukraine in the first quarter of this year grew by 7.4% compared with the first quarter of last year, and amounted to 12.3 billion dollars. And the market of the European Union for Ukrainian exporters is the number one market.
According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the European Union market is the number one market for Ukrainian exporters, according to the Government portal.
Its share in total exports was 42.7%. Products of the agricultural sector and metallurgy are in the greatest demand in terms of products. Moreover, the growth of grain exports in the first quarter amounted to 52%.
Exports of services also grew - by 12.3% - to 2.87 billion dollars. In the services segment, the EU market also ranks first with a share of 33.6%. By type of service, the most demanded areas are transport, telecommunications, business services, including scientific, and processing.
Export development trends are also supported by indicators of overall economic growth. According to Goskomstat’s operational estimates, real GDP growth in Ukraine in the first quarter was 2.2%. The economy of Ukraine is growing for the 13th quarter in a row, the report says.
