In 2018, Ukraine exported fruits and berries totaling $ 157 million, which is 40 percent more than last year.

Growth in exports of walnuts (from 13 thousand tons in 9 months of 2017 to 20 thousand tons in the same period of the current year), apples and pears (from 9 thousand tons to 29 thousand tons, respectively) was the most notable.

If we do not take into account the import of fruits exotic for Ukraine (mainly citrus fruits and bananas), in the first three quarters of 2018, the foreign trade surplus of fruits and berries reached $ 75 million, the association said.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian enterprises exported 560.4 thousand tons of sugar in the 2017-2018 marketing year. In comparison with the 2016-2017 year, when sugar exports were at a record level in the entire history of Ukraine, 769.3 thousand tons, a fall in 2017-2018 MY was 27.2%.
