In January-September, Ukraine reduced the export of greenhouse tomatoes by 30% compared with the previous year - to 10.7 thousand tons, which is a historical minimum, the press service of the Ukrainian Fruit and Vegetable Association (UFVA) reported.
“In January-September 2018, Ukraine exported only 10.7 thousand tons of tomatoes, which is almost 30% less than in the same period of the previous year. In monetary terms, the supply of these products decreased by 20% to about 8 million US dollars.
For comparison, in the first nine months of 2017, Ukraine managed to export 15 thousand tons of tomatoes in the amount of more than 10 million US dollars, ”the message says. Experts noted that this year the export of Ukrainian tomatoes has decreased to the lowest level in the entire history of independent Ukraine.
